About the Bikram Sambat calendar
Bikram Sambat (BS, विक्रम संवत्) is Nepal's official calendar. It runs about 56 years and 8 months ahead of the Gregorian (AD) calendar, and its new year, Baisakh 1, falls in mid-April.
BS months don't have fixed lengths — a month can have 29 to 32 days, and the lengths change from year to year according to the published patro. That's why BS↔AD conversion needs a table, not a formula.
This converter uses the same calendar data as the Nabikaran app, checked by converting every day from BS 2000 to 2099 both ways. Dates far in the future are projections until the official patro for that year is published.
